Georgina Moir

September 21, 2019 //  by Imogen

Georgina is a local artist who creates bold and striking contemporary watercolours of birds and animals. She seeks to create a painting that attracts the viewer’s attention and portrays the character of the animal which is an essential aspect of her work. The eyes are the most important part of her paintings as she feels once she has captured them, the rest falls into place.

As well as being an artist at the Green Tree Gallery, Borde Hill, Georgina has completed numerous commissions nationwide from a robin to celebrate a 70th, a christening duck, and pink flamingos to brighten up a Lake District sitting-room.

She’s thrilled to be exhibiting a variety of works at the Lindfield Art Studio and to be part of the festival for her fourth year running. Alongside her paintings, Georgina will also be showcasing a range of greeting cards which will also be available to buy at the festival. More information about Georgina’s work can be found on her website here.

Megan will be exhibiting her work at Lindfield Primary Academy on Saturday 21st September from 10.00am to 5.00pm and Sunday 22nd September between 10.00am and 4.00pm as part of the 2019 Lindfield Arts Festival. Helen Wiggins – Art By Wigs

September 21, 2019 //  by Imogen

Helen is a local photographer and artist who was brought up in Mid Sussex. She has a keen interest in capturing the best in people, nature and the outdoors through either the cameras lens or a paint brush. Living in Shoreham provides Helen with lots of creative opportunities, from the beach, to the downs or along the river. When out with the camera she tries to find that different perspective or uses her creative skills to transform the ordinary into something quite different.  Sometimes this involves creating a painting, taking a photograph or merging the two mediums together to keep the viewer guessing.

Her work will be exhibited at Lindfield Primary Academy on Saturday 21st September between 10.00am and 5.00pm and Sunday 22nd September between 10.00am and 4.00pm as part of the 2019 Lindfield Arts Festival. More information about Helen’s work can be found on her website here or on her Instagram here, Facebook here or on Twitter here.

Tommy Golunski

September 21, 2019 //  by Imogen

Thomas Golunski is an artist based in the south of England, working in primarily in Oils and Charcoal. Currently, he is exploring how traditional methods and techniques impact contemporary paintings and the way in which they are consumed within a digital sphere. Through an urgent and tense recreation of fleeting moments, Golunski seeks to explore the way illumination can be used to aid narrative storytelling and suggests not only the transitory nature of light but also a fleeting moment of atmosphere.

Tommy’s work will be exhibited at Lindfield Primary Academy on Saturday 21st September from 10.00am to 5.00pm and on Sunday 22nd September between 10.00am and 4.00pm. More examples of Tommy’s work can be found on his website here.

Cellophane Live Art Installation with Sarah Gillings

September 21, 2019 //  by Imogen

At this years Lindfield Arts Festival there will be a Cellophane Live Art Installation outside Abbott’s chemist, in the High Street on 21st September. Sarah Gillings is a an award-winning multimedia and street artist who will create a wonderful street art piece using Cellograff. Cellograff is a technique where cellophane is stretched between any available support making paint ready surfaces, in this case Lindfield’s iconic Lime trees!

Cellograff provides the artist the freedom to create murals in a variety of new locations without the restriction of needing a wall. The translucent nature of the plastic adds a fascinating layer of visual complexity to the mural. Sarah’s Cellograff interventions typically involve inserting British wildlife into unexpected settings.

So come along and watch Sarah create a wonderful street art piece using just spray paint and cellophane wrapped around two trees!

More information about Sarah’s work can be found on her website here, her Instagram here or her Facebook page here.
