Mary Grant

September 21, 2019 //  by Imogen

Mary Grant’s paintings conjure up a frenzy of atmosphere with optimistic light and brooding darkness. Her works give a subtle nod to Constable and Waterhouse but there occasionally remains a contemporary reference of a dinghy or a telegraph pole. The works tend to lend you off somewhere and suggest something further away. Mary is also concerned with demonstrating the potential and endless possibilities of painting.

Mary Grant’s work has been purchased for public collections such as the Glen Dimplex Group and Kensington and Chelsea Museums and Galleries. Her work is also in private collections throughout Europe, South Africa, Singapore and the USA. More information about Mary’s work can be found on her website here, her Facebook page here or her Instagram page here.
