The best laid plans can go awry and with over 190 events to organise we have had a challenge or two.  Occasionally performers, exhibitors or venues need to change.  These are a few alterations as of 15th September:

Saturday 21st September


  • Additional to printed programme: Lindfield Bonfire Society talk on “What if the Gunpowder Plot had Succeeded” at 12.30pm – 1.30pm in Bent Arms Function Room
  • Times changed: African Drummers – 11.30am-12.15pm outside Paolinos and 12.45 -1.30pm outside the Bent Arms
  • Time Changed: Lindfield Hand Bell Ringers will be in the URC Nave at 10.30am not the URC Lounge at 11am.
  • Doubles performance at 3.45pm on The Common has been cancelled.
  • Fitsteps Performance in the High Street at 2.30pm has been cancelled.
  • Mask Making at Lindfield Art Studio 1- 2pm only

Sunday 22nd September

  • The Information Point on Sunday will be outside Jackson Stops Estate Agency.
  • Mask Making at Lindfield Art Studio 1- 2pm only

The Witch Inn is running a special wine tasting event on Saturday 21st September from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Set amidst bluebell-strewn woods from which the vineyard derives its name, Bluebell Vineyard Estates is a family-run vineyard and winery with a passion for producing world class sparkling wines.

An introduction to the multi award-winning wines of Bluebell Vineyard followed by a tutored-tasting of our Hindleap Sparkling Wines and Ashdown Still Wines.

RokSkool Music Workshops

RokSkool Workshops to learn how to rock.  All workshops are suitable for children, teens and adults and will be help in the Tiger Rooms School Room on Saturday 21st September.

Each workshop is £5 a student – maximum 25 students per workshop.

  • Vocal coaching 10-10.30am
  • Vocal coaching 10.40-11.10am
  • Keys/bass 11.20-11.50am
  • Guitar 12.00-12.30pm
  • Guitar 12.40-1.10pm
  • Drums 1.20-1.50pm
  • Drums 2.00-2.30pm
  • Ukulele 2.40-3.10pm
  • Band session 3.20-4.10pm
  • Band session 4.20-5.00pm

Lindfield Village History Walk

Take a look at the village with this self-guided walk provided by the Lindfield History Project Group.

 

Starting from outside the United Reformed Church, the walk mainly around the High Street, will give you a ‘sense of place’ through the buildings, people and events that have contributed to Lindfield’s rich character so enjoyed today.

Collect your printed walk sheets from the Information desk in the High Street, by the United Reformed Church. Donation of £1.00 requested.

This event starts at 10:00am on September 21 and ends at 4:00pm on September 22, 2019

Wake-Up & Smell the Festival Coffee

Join the Lindfield Coffee Works team for a fun and relaxed evening of coffee appreciation.  

Learn more about the coffee journey from bean to cup, get insider tips on making the best home brew and sample coffee flavours from around the world.  

This free introductory workshop takes place on Thursday 19th September, 7.00pm – 9.00pm, at Lindfield Coffee Works.  

Places are limited and are being reserved on a first come, first served basis. Reserve your spot directly at Lindfield Coffee Works on Alma Road.

Lindfield Tower Bell Ringing Workshop

Places limited: reserve your place for this FREE session online or at our Box Office at Kell & Collins, 6 Denmans Lane,  Lindfield.

We are a group of men and women of varying age and previous experience.  What brings us together as a team is our enjoyment of ringing.  A number of members have been ringing for many years and are very skilled – a distinct advantage as they are able to teach and encourage those of us who came to ringing later in life.

We are all members of the Sussex County Association of Change Ringers which is active in providing teaching opportunities for ringers throughout Sussex.

Unique Dance-Fit Party

The Unique Dance Fit Co. will be opening the doors of their regular dance classes for festival goers to come along, watch some performances and try out a new class and skill! There are many different classes from Zumba to Latin dances through funky and 80s’ hits to the HIIT class. They firmly believe that any dance and fitness class can be fun and easy to do, whether you have two left feet or are a natural born dancer. If you don’t believe it Tunde will change your mind!

Tommy Golunski is running a Portrait drawing workshop

Thomas Golunski is a contemporary figurative artist based in the south of the U.K. Focusing mainly on the immediate impression and urgency of capturing the effects of illumination through the manipulation of intuitive mark making. We are delighted he is coming to the Festival and will run this workshop.

Library, King Edward Hall, Lindfield

Book now for a place on Sunday 22nd September at 2.00pm at this excellent portrait painting workshop. Tommy regularly teaches at The Art Academy in London, and has completed several demonstrations and live paintings in the past. Workshop includes all materials.

Have you wondered about the Lindfield prints?

Local artist Brett Hudson will be demonstrating how he creates his wonderful Lindfield Life paintings, and will talk to people about how he gets his ideas, show sketch books and other paintings on both Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September at 11.30am at Lindfield Art Studio.

To finish he will draw a large picture from scratch to show how he draws people and houses, hopefully giving people an insight into the process of creating a Lindfield Life painting.
